Boricuas de Corazón Inc. is dedicated to supporting families and individuals in need through compassionate community programs and essential services.

We proudly offer the following:

• Food Giveaway:
  Held every 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month. Places are going to be remote and advise our full calendar of activities in website and social media displays.
  (Free event – preregistration required)

• Temporary Housing Assistance:
  Support with hotel costs for families facing emergencies while awaiting assistance from government agencies.
  *(Availability depends on funding provided by our sponsors and supporters.)

  Housing Assistance During Natural Disasters

  Program Instructions:

  Applicants must complete a housing assistance intake form. Required documentation includes valid photo identification, proof of address, and any disaster-related documentation available at the time of application. Assistance is prioritized for households experiencing displacement, unsafe living conditions, or significant financial hardship as a direct result of the disaster. Services may include housing referrals, temporary assistance, and support with disaster-related housing applications. All assistance is provided in coordination with local partners and is subject to funding availability. Our team is committed to delivering services in a respectful, culturally responsive, and confidential manner to ensure affected families receive timely and appropriate support during emergency situations.

• Community Education & Training:
  Community volunteer programs offering CERT, DRT, First Aid, and CPR certification training. If you want to Volunteer with us, you need to be trained.

• Senior Education:
  Workshops focused on Hurricane Preparedness and Technology Skills — helping seniors learn to use computers and cell phones confidently.

• Housing & Financial Services: Financial Stability and Support Services: Guidance with realtor services, rental apartment searches, notary services, and income tax preparation.

  We provide individualized assistance to help clients assess their financial situation and establish realistic short- and long-term financial goals. Services include support with bill management, setting up payment arrangements with creditors, and negotiating extended payment terms when financial hardship occurs. We also assist in drafting formal hardship and negotiation letters to creditors to support these requests.

  Income Tax Preparation Services Through a partnership with Luna’s Tax Services, we offer professional income tax preparation and electronic filing (e-file) services to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

  Program Eligibility Requirements:

  To qualify for services participants must provide the following documentation:

  Valid photo identification

  Proof of citizenship or legal residency

  Proof of current address Dependent information

  if applicable Social Security card or official documentation containing the Social Security number

• Volunteer Opportunities:
  Encouraging community members to take part in service projects and local support efforts through our volunteer network. We encourage all member of the community to do community hours with us. We accept student that need to complete voluntary hours for their school actions.

1. Distribución de Alimentos:
   Se realiza el segundo y tercer sábado de cada mes.
   (Evento gratuito – requiere pre-inscripción)

2. Asistencia de Vivienda Temporal:
   Apoyo en el pago de hoteles para familias que enfrentan emergencias mientras reciben ayuda de agencias gubernamentales.

3. Educación y Capacitación:
   Programas para voluntarios comunitarios con entrenamiento en CERT, DRT, Primeros Auxilios y RCP.

4. Educación para Personas Mayores:
   Talleres sobre Preparación para Huracanes y Tecnología Básica — enseñando a nuestros mayores a usar computadoras y teléfonos celulares con confianza.

5. Servicios de Vivienda y Financieros:
   Asistencia con servicios de bienes raíces, búsqueda de apartamentos en renta, servicios notariales y preparación de impuestos.

6. Programa de Voluntarios‍ ‍

   Promovemos la participación de miembros de la comunidad en proyectos de servicio y apoyo local a través de nuestra red de voluntariado.

Our Disaster Relief Services provide essential resources and emergency assistance to help those affected recover with dignity and care.

We offer assistance with:

• Feeding Stations – providing hot meals and food distribution to families in need.

• Hygiene and Baby Products – essential personal care items and infant supplies.

• Blankets and Non-Perishable Food – comfort and nourishment during emergency response.

• Emergency Backpacks – ready-to-go kits with first-aid, tools, and basic survival items.

• Medical Stations and Supplies – supporting health needs during disaster recovery.

• Water Stations and Filtration Systems – ensuring access to safe, clean drinking water.

• Solar Products, Generators, and Inverters – providing power solutions where electricity is unavailable.

• Productos Solares, Generadores e Inversores – soluciones de energía en zonas sin electricidad.
